Why the name
The number 6 is the player who screens the back four, takes the ball facing his own goal, and turns defence into attack. It is the least filmed job on the pitch and one of the most decisive. That is the argument this site is built on: the game is built through the middle, and most coverage starts a beat too late to notice.
What we do
Premier League and Champions League, explained through the roles, the structures and the rules that actually settle results. Alongside the analysis we publish news, and we publish numbers that nobody else bothers to work out: the table as it would read on first halves alone, the points a side has rescued from losing positions, how much better they are at home than away.
We are not affiliated with any league, competition, club or broadcaster, and we do not want to be.
