Corrections Policy
Accuracy matters more than preserving the first version of an article.
Send a correction request to editorial@midfielder.co.uk with the page URL, the exact passage in question, the reason it is inaccurate and a primary source where possible.
How corrections are handled
- The editorial team checks the claim against the best available source
- A confirmed factual error is corrected promptly
- A material change receives an editor’s note describing what changed
- A disputed interpretation may be clarified without being removed when the underlying facts are correct
- Rule pages are updated when a new official edition supersedes the cited one
What counts as a material correction
Examples include a wrong date, club, competition route, registration deadline, financial figure or quotation. Styling changes, added internal links and minor grammar corrections do not normally require a public note.
Right of reply
A person or organisation directly affected by a factual claim may submit a concise response. Publication or inclusion depends on relevance, evidence and legal considerations, not on the status of the sender.
