Grealish unavailable for Everton after disciplinary breach

Jack Grealish is unavailable for selection for Everton after a breach of club discipline, according to Paul Joyce. The development was reported on Thursday evening.

It is understood the issue stems from an unauthorised absence from training. In practical terms, an unauthorised absence is missing a scheduled session without the club’s approval, and clubs commonly view that as a disciplinary matter. Being ruled out for selection indicates Grealish will not be considered for matchday involvement while the situation is addressed. The report does not state whether the decision relates to a single fixture or a longer period.

The reporting points to an internal process rather than any action by a competition authority. In such cases clubs typically handle matters under their own procedures, which can include fines, additional work or exclusion from squads, though no specific measure has been detailed here. If the stance is maintained, Grealish could miss upcoming matches until the club concludes its process, with team announcements offering the clearest early sign of any change.

This is not presented as an official club announcement, and further clarity would rest with Everton should they choose to address the matter publicly. Any change to his status would be expected once the internal process has run its course. Until then, his availability remains uncertain.
